Here is my beloved, Michael, in his beloved garden. We are off to see "A Serious Man" tonight. Thanks for the birthday wishes, I'm having a little trouble with the idea of being 50. But ah, life stops for no woman, or marches on for all women, or it's not so bad getting older when you think of the alternatives? One of those cliches surely applies here.

There's not a thing in this world wrong with turning 50 especially since I'm right behind you in September of next year.

I wrote this for my last 24 hours of 48 last month. I'm talking about turning 49 in it, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was already thinking about what I want to finish before 50 arrives.

I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow and get to spend it surrounded by the people who matter the most to you.

The raised beds in the garden look incredible.

It has surprised me how much I keep getting excited to see the numbers going up. While I don't expect that to always be the case, 42 was exciting for me this year. I hope 50 treats you well! Enjoy!

So many things you've done for your first 50 years. Lots of joy you've brought to people with your work, been a great daughter, sister, mother, and now, beautiful Michael!

The pages of the next 50 chapters just waiting to be filled, with whatever you choose, whatever makes you happy! Enjoy each and every one Mrs. Sweeney! :)

We're all younger today than we ever will be for the rest of our lives. Enjoy today.

Nice garden. Cute husband!

Happy birthday to you, Julia. (And to me, for that matter). I'm sure you'll rock the next fifty, or at least smooth jazz it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIA!!! I just listened to Letting Go of God and I think it was brilliant. It also helped me effectively shoo away a Jehovah's witness.

The author is absolutely right, and there is no question.
