“Letting Go of God” got into the Seattle Film Festival! I am so happy. I’m not sure of any more details, but this will be the public world premier. And in Seattle! What could be better? Also, I'm so happy the forum is up and running. I've been enjoying reading all the entries. What a relief to have that up.

Congratulations on the film. I can't wait to see it, but being from Boston leaves me three whole time zones and one whole coast away. i listen to the c.d. i got at your show, but i'm looking forward to seeing your delivery again (especially the pictures of Jesus)
Hurray! That's a great place for it. Will your family go up to see it?
good for you
Seattle??? Yay!!! I will actually be able to go!!! I'm so excited. (if that wasn't evident by the amount of exclamation points)
I LOVE the cd and can't wait for the movie.
Huzzah!
Julia, good on you! But, you do have a pronoun problem.
Julia, that's great to hear! I was in the audience here in L.A. for one of the filmed performances, and it was such a joy and honor to get to watch the process, and enjoy the show all at once. Can't wait till the dvd comes out.
All great success....p.s. loved you and Julia on TED; what a fantastic site.
Does anyone know if or when "Letting go of God" will be out on DVD? I am assuming that is coming?
I have the CD and have really enjoyed it. I didn't even know till this past week of the DVD "And God Said HA", so I just got the DVD.
Congratulations, Julia! That's a wonderful venue for your movie's world premiere. Any chance a distributor will be there to pick it up? Or could someone from HBO wise up and program it for their network? This pieces really deserves a wider audience.
I meant "piece" singular. Oops. Watching too many hours of "Battlestar Galactica" in a row affects your typing skills.
Congrats all over the place, Julia!
Fantastic! I've heard snippets of "Letting Go". Now I can watch the whole thing in hometown comfort. :D
Wow, congratulations, Julia. I've never tried to communicate with you in any way before, but I've seen your material here and there and it's fabulous. Best wishes!
I just came here!

Julia - I saw you with Ira Glass at the Paramount in Seattle. Can't wait to see your film at SIFF. Congrats!
I’m a Seattleite and interested in searching for answers. I’ll check out your film—thanks to “Blogs of Note.”
Congratulations for the Seattle Film Festival, and good luck!
Love your comments and agree with almost all of them. Love Jill Sobule- caught her at the Delacourte last summer and became a fan and I'm a liberal from Utah and 65, so go figure.
Also, so far a Obama supporter mainly because everyone else is just so scary. You sound like a loveable very talented person. Good luck.
Judy
Kudos to Blogs of Note and the film ! Did you know that this Rev. Wright(? spelling)of Obama fame is the same one that the Clinton's had at the White House during Lewinski-Gate ? ! Hmmm.
Coach Bliss
just found this blog -- loved you on snl, which is what must come your way all the time, and i loved the this american life show from a few years back -- i teach that hour in my college courses from time to time.
this (blog) is going to be a happy addition to my crazed morning coffee-addicted reading.
Seattle Film Festival is wonderful- congrats....the people there are wonderful.....very receptive, and well read and they love their film festival....
( I used to live there for many years .....so I might be a bit biased.....)
And there is much good food and company on Capital Hill - so when the films show- the people all go to the resturantes on the Hill and talk about the movie....
( very different than Sundance...but very nice)
good for you.....really...
stop by http://watergatesummer.blogspot.com/, lovely people there ....
I can't wait to see it, mainly because I'm scared to death that I'll end up in an audience shot. I was, um, having a bit of trouble that night.
Man, it's been almost a year! I'm glad we'll all finally get to see it.
thats good
Wow, the actual Julia Sweeney. How fun!
Have to say I caught "God Said Ha!" some years ago (4? 5?, goodness a bit ago), and very much enjoyed it. My sister and I got through deaths in our family using humour and relying on each other. Wonderful preformance. I even wrote a paper on "God Said Ha!" for psychology.
Anyway, I'll have to track down "Letting go of God"
Congrats on the film. I am so proud of you for speaking your mind. I am still trying to get the courage to declare my views to the world. My husband and only close friends know but I'm hoping I will be brave to tell others.
well you have said your say and that sounds true too.
Congrats , love the blurb.
gr8 going julia
Hi Julia, I like your work. First, perhaps I ought to say something like: 'prove you are Julia'. LOL (sort of took that right out of the unwritten book of sci-fi cliches.) Anyway, I know it's you. You are very funny! And a great writer. Take care.

Hi Julia! You have a wonderful site! I'm from Spokane. Started a blog at www.jeaniespokane.blogspot.com. (Clever to use my name and town in case anyone gets confused).
Hooray, Seattle! I'm looking forward to real entertainment in my hometown.
I'm so excited to have just found your blog and looking forward to the film. I saw the show in LA last year. Took friends for their birthdays hoping to stimulate novel birthday dinner conversation. Wow! Did that plan work! Anyway, I think about your journey all the time. Thanks!
Congratulations! I really like your blog! If you like, take a look at my blog:

Thanks!
Congrats! Sounds like fun! :o)
Hey, congrats on the film, but I do have to ask one question, is this something in support of God or removing God completely? I love God, I would never want such a thing to happen. Could you fill me in?
hi there, just dropping.. congratulation on the film.
it is good thing to believe in god
Hello! I'm a first time blog reader for you. I just happened across you as a blog of note, but I like the Kerouac-ian free style dumping of thoughts that you seem to do. : ) I will be back.
I hope it comes out in DVD, and I wish you great success.

I know how much work it is to put together a film, so congratz.
Hey Julia - I had no idea you were blogging, but why would I? It's not like we talk anymore. Oh, that's right - we never did. So. I'm super-certain you won't trace this back to my blog, which is fine. You're busy. You have a kid, oh yes, and a career. Ha ha. Anyway, I'm just glad we're Blogger-neighbors, and I've learned something: we're both Boars! (Please forward complaints to the Chinese Astrology Dept, not me.) All the best, Ken. slouchingtyper.blogpot.com
The word of God is the truth whether we believe or not. Most people choose not to believe because God's truth exposes our sinful nature, and we don't want to change that. God is not religion, but a Holy Spirit and He created us, loves us, wants a relationship with us. God will not force us to love Him or believe, but rather turn us over to our own desires. That doesn't mean that we won't face judgment. Do we dare exalt ourselves above His knowledge? Or despise His truth? The bible says that we will all give an account whether we believe or not. What account will you give Julia? I'm afraid it will not be funny.
What theater will it be playing at?
Fantastic on the film, don't give up on Hillary. I lied about how big the fish I caught once and some of my Coast Guard exploits. We all are entitled to a little truth in cheek stories.
Visit my blogs if you want to make millions!!!
Hooray! Congratulations on the film. I admire your talent. I'm in law school so I don't really get to do much writing "for fun," but I recently started a blog so hopefully I can be as candid and enjoyable as you.
We don't know each other, as you can probably tell, but if you're interested in attending DG founders' day in Seattle at the end of April you should let me know. Who knows, it may provide some fodder for later stories! ;-)
I guess I just stumbled into you...anyway, really glad to find good stuff to read. I write a lot and so got onto blogging. You may find some entries interesting..."The Other Scarlet Letter", and "The Reticular Formation and the Garden of Eden"...posted early March.
I am atheistic, but but don't like to call myself an atheist. It's like drawing some line in the sand between me and "them". It sets up camps of opposition. I am trying to figure out how to draw circles that encompass such sides. Can't wait to see the new film. Hat's off and Cowboy nod, and ceremonial bow! D. lifesbone.blogspot.com

Great to hear that! I loved that show. Anyway, I did review that show on www.katewestreviews.com and can't wait to hear how the show progress. Best of luck!
